Abraham Is Able To Participate Fully!

Abraham Handbook
Dear Rob,

Abraham is from Mexico and he just turned eleven this year.   He wants to work for Microsoft when he grows up or be an archeologist.

He is from a low income family and joined Scouting because his mom didn’t want him to play video games anymore.

By providing a Scout handbook, you have helped Abraham participate in the wholesome activities that Scouting provides. Thank you so much on behalf of Abraham (and his mom).

A Handbook for Ramon

Ramon Handbook
Dear Rob,

Ramon is a 9 year old Bear Scout and he is from Mexico. Nevertheless, he still wants to be the president of the United States of America.

There are six people in his family, and he is one of the middle children. As you can probably tell, it is difficult for his family to participate in after school activities.  That is why your gift of a Bear Handbook is so important. Thank you for your gift and look for Ramon’s name on a ballot some day, if not President, maybe Governor.

Juan receives his Scout Handbook!

Ismael (Juan) Full Year 2010
Dear John,

Juan is eleven years old and lives in Seattle’s inner-city.  He is the son of a bi-racial family. With Neil, Niranjan, Susan, James and Malik’s support we were able to help Juan participate in the Soccer and Scouting program.

But we still needed funding for Juan’s Scout Handbook.

That is where you stepped in. Now, Juan can participate in the program more fully!

He is looking forward to going camping this summer and bringing his Scout Handbook so that his counselors can sign off on all the requirements he completes at camp.

John, thank you for helping Juan be a Scout and for giving him not just his handbook, but a handbook for life!

Scouting teaches Duke self-reliance.

Duke, Handbook 2010
Dear Digvijay,

The Scouting program provides ways for Scouts to pay their own way in addition to receiving financial assistance to participate. This largely occurs through the Scout popcorn sale. Duke is a budding entrepreneur and was the top seller in the Soccer and Scouting program.

He comes from a bi-racial family. Digvijay, your generous support helped provide Duke his handbook and sparked his entrepreneurial spirit.

For Jose, Soccer and Scouting is a family activity.

Jose Full Year, Handbook 2010
Dear Digvijay,

Jose is in the 3rd grade and is a “Bear” Scout. He has two brothers that also participate in Soccer and Scouting, Pablo and Martin. For Jose, Soccer and Scouting is very much a family activity.

His older brother, Martin, is a Boy Scout and is a positive role model for not only his brothers but other younger Scouts.

Jose loves soccer and it is through his love of the game that he was attracted to Scouting. Because Jose’s entire family participates in Soccer and Scouting, it can get a little expensive. Digvijay, your generous donation gave Jose a Scout handbook and an opportunity to learn the positive values that Scouting has to offer for an entire year!

Alexis is ready to earn some badges

Alexis Full Year, Handbook 2010
Dear Digvijay,

Alexis is in the 2nd grade, and he was attracted to the Soccer and Scouting program even though he is not a great soccer player.  Your support of Soccer and Scouting broke the economic and cultural barrier that he would have otherwise encountered in being a Scout.

Scouting is now his most favorite after school activity and he is always looking for ways to earn the next badge (which includes looking ahead to activities in the other Scouting levels)

Digvijay, thank you for giving Alexis his handbook and making it possible for Alexis to participate!
